Illinois Institute of Technology’s Amy Bourquard (Boise, Idaho) has been named Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week, in women’s soccer for the week ending September 16.
Bourquard produced three goals and two assists in a 2-0 week for the Scarlet Hawks. The senior midfielder scored a hat trick (three goals) and added one assist in a 5-1 victory over Northland Baptist Bible College (Wis.) on Saturday after contributing one assist in a 4-0 win over Grace College (Ind.) on Thursday.
IIT, a winner of five straight contests, is 7-1 on the season.

Kevin Peacock, head coach of the Illinois Tech women’s soccer team, has announced the National Letter of Intent signings of six student-athletes to his 2007 roster. All will don the Scarlet Hawk colors beginning this fall.
Coach Peacock and his staff covered the map in search of what is expected to be the best and strongest class in the programs history. Peacock inked players from Arizona, Michigan, Minnesota, Virginia and Illinois.
The class of 2011 includes; Stephanie Salem (Maple Grove, MN), Meagan Sarratt (Portage, MI ) Emily Kunkel (Detroit, MI), Sara Wilde (Tucson, AZ), Angela Skaar (Springfield, IL), Marilisa del Ninno (Alexandra, VA)
Steph Salem
Coach Peacock: “Steph is a complete soccer player and has a game that can back it up. She's an extremely quick player who can play as forward or sweeper. She is a fierce competitor with great passion to succeed. Steph will have a huge impact on our program this coming fall."
Meagan Sarrat
Coach Peacock: “Meagan is a defensive player who is very vocal and has great awareness. She has a great deal of composure with the ball and makes excellent decisions on and off the ball. She is someone who has the qualities to be a very good player for us this year. Meagan has tremendous potential in the college game.”
Emily Kunkel
Coach Peacock; “Emily comes to us with an impressive high school and club soccer background. She's very technical, has a solid understanding of the game and is a good athlete. She plays midfield but can cover a variety of positions if needed. She's going to be on the field a lot for us, I think she has the ability to be a great player."
Sara Wilde
Coach Peacock: “Sara is a very tough and quick defender who is great at shutting down key players. She is going to add an experience to our defense. She comes to Illinois Tech as a transfer from Pima Community College (AZ) and is a great signing.”
Angela Skaar
Coach Peacock “Angie is another player with a solid background of playing high school and club soccer. She's a feisty character, a tough competitor, who plays with a tremendous amount of energy and passion. She can play at the back or in the midfield and will be a valuable member of our team this year."
Marilisa del Ninno
Coach Peacock: “Misa is a midfield player with great potential. She works hard and has played a lot of youth soccer, which has helped her develop and progress. She will offer us options in midfield as she can play in any position. She's a tough girl who can run all day long. Misa also works very hard and continues to develop her game so we're excited for her continued growth.”
Final Word:
Coach Peacock: “This is an extremely talented recruiting class that will hopefully take the program to another level. Combining these freshmen with the group of returning players will give us the extremely competitive environment that is needed to compete within our conference and region. We will have the quality to move up the ladder again, and hopefully cause some major upsets along the way! I am really looking forward to the new season.”
The Scarlet Hawks women’s soccer team has high hopes heading into the 2007 season. Illinois Tech, who had its best season in the programs four year old history last year, return almost everyone having only lost two players from last year’s team. Key players returning include senior captain Amy Bourquard who finished the season with 8 goals and 12 assists. Also back between the sticks is Junior Lauren McClelland who has played 36 games in the past two years and has never missed a minute since arriving in 2005.
Combine that with one of Coach Peacock’s most talented recruiting classes and the Scarlet Hawks have the potential to have a major impact in the CCAC in 2007.
