The Men of IIT Cross Country finished a strong 7th place out of a field of 17 last Friday (9/1/06) at the Earlybird Invitational. Pacing the Hawks was Junior Dan Oh (Old Bridge, NJ/Old Bridge) finishing in 29th place with a time of 16:38. That time established a new IIT school record for the seldom run distance (5K), breaking his previous mark set in 2004. Newcomer Oba Vincent (Liberty Twnshp/Lakota East) was next across for the Hawks (51st) followed immediately by Ed Aramayo (Oak Ridge/Oak Ridge) (52nd) with times of 17:05 and 17:06 respectively. Scoring was rounded out by Jared Gardner (Anchorage, AK/East) 17:49, Nick Williamson (Winchester, MO/Parkway South) 18:00, Deep Shenoy (Spokane, WA/Sandpoint) 18:20, and Chris Chacakis (Richton Park, IL/ Rich South) 18:21
