Chicago, Ill. - Today athletic director Lee Hitchen announced that Steve Born has been name the new Head Baseball Coach. In his role as head coach for the Scarlet Hawks, Steve Born definitely has an inside perspective. As a four-year letterman at Illinois Tech, Born both caught and served as a designated hitter for the Hawks. Following his playing tenure, Born was named an assistant coach in 2005. Born’s coaching experience also includes working with the Bulls/Sox Academy as a hitting instructor since 1999. Steve currently resides in Oak Lawn.
